Get Involved with Oxford Business Networks (OBNs) and Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

The Alumni Relations Office hopes you’ve thought about the OBNs and/or SIGs of interest and have visited the School’s official GroupSpaces site to learn about their activities. Now you can think about how to get involved. You may want to run for a chair or co-chair position, serve as a committee member or simply join as a general member. If you are interested in running for a chair position, we recommend you contact the current chairs, listed on their GroupSpaces OBN or SIG page. We would also like to make you aware of some salient dates for nominations for the position as chair.

The Alumni Relations Office will be giving a presentation during the Careers Centre Boot Camps, as the nominations for three of the six core OBNs will start after those sessions. This pertains to the Management Consulting, Finance and Private Equity OBNs.

Management Consulting OBN – Nominations start on 20 September

Finance OBN and Private Equity OBN – Nominations start on 23 September

If you are unable to attend the boot camp, the presentation will be available online afterwards.

The three remaining core OBNs, Social Entrepreneurship OBN, Entrepreneurship OBN, and Energy & Resources OBN, have nominations starting on 3 October.

Remember that there are many other non-core OBNs and SIGs that you can pitch to take forward this year. Successful pitches will receive School recognition and potentially some funding. The AR Office will contact you regarding pitch processes, dates and deadlines soon.
