2010 Sylvester Awards
12/07/2010
As per School tradition, the Sylvester Awards were presented at the end of Trinity Term 2010, highlighting some of the year’s most notable events and personalities. The hard work of the organising committee, and the School catering and facilities staff, paid off as the evening went off without a hitch. The rain stopped, and the clouds parted just in time to set up the back of the business school for a fully catered garden party with a red carpet, a professional photographer, a live jazz-band, and an 8-foot “Oscar” statue.
Once the food was eaten, and the photos were taken, the masses congregated in the Nelson Mandela Theatre for a spectacular awards show hosted by SAB President Carlo Bellini, and SAB Alumni Rep Juliet Hall. A stunning audio visual display via the talents of Bo Meng was bested perhaps only by a performance by the “Kaizen Boys” and special video appearances by Derek Walker and Tomo Suzuki.
In the end, the Sylvester’s were a great opportunity to collectively celebrate some of the best moments of the year and to spend a final evening together before the summer break.
