Executive Education FT Ranking Jump

10/05/2010

I am delighted to be able to report that in today’s Financial Times Ranking of Executive Education, the Saïd Business School has risen from 29th to 15th, placing it ahead of some of the world’s top business schools such as Chicago, Columbia, MIT and Stanford. Alongside the FT MBA ranking, this is one of the most significant published rankings for the School.

This is a tremendous performance and a great credit to everyone in Executive Education. It follows the recent award to the School of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) 2010 Practice Award for Executive Development. In the four years since its incorporation in the Business School, executive education has grown nearly threefold to become a significant source of revenue for the School. I would in particular like to express my thanks to Gay Haskins as Dean of Executive Education, Kathy Harvey as Director of Open Enrolment Programmes and Steve Ludlow as Director of Custom Programmes.

This is the culmination of a remarkable period for the School. Following its success in the undergraduate and the MBA rankings and the very successful introduction of new masters degree and diploma programmes, the School has now established itself as a leading provider across the full range of management education. There is obviously still much to be done to realize our goal of being one of a handful of top business schools in the world but we should pause to take satisfaction in what has been achieved to date before we strive for still greater achievements in the future.

With best wishes

Colin
