One of the two cornerstone events each year hosted by the School’s Alumni Relations Office, the OBA New Year Dinner 2010 was held this past Saturday evening (6 February) at the Oxford and Cambridge Club.

More than 120 alumni, guests, students and School representatives were in attendance to enjoy a three-course meal and hear Peter Middleton, former CEO of Lloyds of London, Thomas Cook Group and Salomon Brothers, share his views from the top.

The top three values, which Middleton believes makes executives successful, are honesty, humility and character. Middleton also advised when recruiting top executives to find out what they are reading, as it’s important to continue learning throughout life. Middleton is currently reading “Night Train to Lisbon” by Pascal Mercier.
