Financial Times Global MBA
- Overview
The annual Financial Times Global MBA ranking is generally viewed by prospective MBA students as the most authoritative ranking of MBA programmes. When you were doing your research into the best global MBA as a prospective student, the FT rankings no doubt played a part in your deliberations.
The FT surveys graduates three years after they have completed the degree, to assess the effect of the MBA on their subsequent career progression and salary growth. The FT does not survey alumni on their overall satisfaction with the School or alumni network.
In line with the significance of the rankings, the Alumni Relations Office is meticulous in its constant search for the current contact details of its alumni. To ensure the maximum response from alumni to the FT survey, we must be able to contact as many people from the class being ranked as possible. Alumni participation in completing the survey is a key success driver so if you need to update any of your details please do so by clicking

- How it works - Methodology
The FT Global MBA rankings are based on data collected from two main sources, alumni and business schools. The response threshold that the FT sets is 20% of the entire class with an absolute minimum of 20 responses.
The FT always surveys graduates three years after they have completed the degree to assess the effect of the MBA on their subsequent career progression and salary growth. The FT does not specifically survey alumni on their overall satisfaction with the School or alumni network.
Three main areas are analysed (among others) to create the top 100:
1) alumni salaries and career development (worth 57% of overall ranking) – data provided by alumni survey;
2) the diversity and international reach of the business school and its MBA programme – data provided by the School, and
3) the research capabilities of each school – data provided by the School.
