SBS Access/Library Access
- I will be visiting Oxford, how can I gain access to enter into areas of the School, such as the Common Room or Library?
Please go to Reception where they will look up your alumni status on the school’s intranet database. You will then be able to sign out a temporary access card, which allows access to the ground floor and into the Sainsbury Library during the week (starting at 9am), and to the ground floor, only on a Saturday (starting at 9am). These cards must be returned to the front desk by 7pm on the same day (4pm on a Saturday).
- I would like to utilise the Sainsbury Library while I’m visiting Oxford. How do I gain access to the Library’s resources?
The Sainsbury Library is a part of the Oxford University Library Services (OULS). An OULS Bodleian Reader card is required before alumni can gain access to any information housed in the Sainsbury library. Matriculated alumni of the University of Oxford can obtain an OULS Bodleian reader’s card, by following
these instructions. More information in accessing the Sainsbury Library can be found by downloading this PDF. Don’t forget, you will also need a temporary School building access card to enter into the library (as explained above).
Lifelong Email
- How do I sign up for a lifelong OBA email address?
Please login to the OBA website with your OBA username and password and click on the Webmail tab. Your OBA lifelong email address offers you: two email addresses (oxfordbusinessalumni.org and oba.co.uk), both directed into your OBA mailbox; a webmail inbox up to 100MB or a POP3 forwarding service to an external inbox; Webmail-based calendar and RSS aggregator.
Note that your login to access your Webmail is separate from your OBA username and password to access the OBA website.
- How do I change (my password/email address) in Webmail?
Please first login to the OBA website using your OBA username and password and click on the Webmail tab. Then click on the left hand “Request my Webmail Password” and enter your Webmail address and new password. If you forgot your Webmail address, please send a reminder request to: webmail@oba.co.uk.
Change of Contact Details
- I have recently moved house/changed my email/have a new job. How do I update my membership record?
We rely on you to provide us your latest details so that we can be sure to keep in touch. Visit the OBA website and login with your OBA username and password – you can update your details at the top links “Update your Contact Details” and “Update your Profile” – or simply email us at alumni@sbs.ox.ac.uk.
- How can I be sure to receive a copy of the biannual Business at Oxford magazine?
We rely on you to provide us your change of address so that we can be sure you receive your copy of Business at Oxford. Whichever mailing address we have on record for you (if there is one at all), is where we automatically send to you a copy. Please update your contact details as we explain above.
Alumni Authors
- How can the School help promote my new book I’ve recently published?
There are two ways your book can be supported. The first is through the
School Alumni Relations Office – we can promote the book in a monthly OBA eNewsletter and on the OBA website, as long as it is business focused. The second option is through the University of Oxford’s Alumni Office and Blackwell’s Bookshop, where you can apply to be featured on the homepage of the Oxford Alumni Bookshop. They are interested in all genres of fiction and non-fiction, and especially books that have been published recently. A different category will be featured each month. For further information please visit the
website and complete the form.
University Clubs
- How do I become a member of the Oxford Union or the Oxford and Cambridge Club?
-
Membership to either of these clubs is managed directly through the club. Unfortunately your
OBA Network membership or Oxford Alumni Card from the University of Oxford Alumni
Office, does not afford automatic membership into these clubs. Please visit the
clubs’ membership links for more information:
